Shop Foreman

ForemanThe Foreman is essential to the success of our service departments. The Transwest Foreman is responsible for dispatching orders to the appropriate technicians, making sure the work gets done efficiently and opening and closing repair orders. As a leader, you will be responsible for managing the technicians' work.We offer a full benefits package for eligible employees including:Medical, dental, and vision insuranceLife (voluntary and employer paid) and disability insurance401(k) with company match beginning with your first contributionHSA and/or FSA, as applicablePaid time off, sick time, and company paid holidaysEmployee car discount programEssential duties and responsibilities:Directly supervise techniciansAssist service manager in training personnelCarry out established policies and proceduresPerform quality assurance activities as directed through quality assurance inspections, random quality checks, and training technicians in quality assuranceAssist service manager in resolving customer complaints and general customer relationsAssist technicians with finish and repair workSchedule, assign, and supervise work with the objective of maximizing the balance of quality, productivity, and profitSupervise maintenance of tools and shop equipmentAdditional duties as assignedRequirements:Work environment and physical abilities:Requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of timeRequired to perform work inside and outside, in all-weather situations, at the shop division locationManual dexterity, fine manipulation and the ability to reach with hands and arms and lift up to 80 lbsMust be able to operate simple to complex and heavy-duty machineryNormal range of hearing and visionRequired education, experience, knowledge & skills:High school diploma or equivalentValid driver's license and MVR in good standingAbility to obtain a CDL within 90 days of employment (diesel and trailer service departments)Ability to multi-taskDetail orientedJourneyman or lead technician experience is a plusKnowledge of how a service shop operates is imperativeStrong customer service skills, organizational skills and leadership abilities are essentialExcellent verbal and communication skillsCandidate must be a motivated individual who can work independentlyAbility to successfully complete a general abilities assessment, pass a post-offer background check, physical and drug screenJob details:Type: SalaryStatus: Full-timePay range: $75,000 - $85,000Shift: 1stReports to: Service Manager
