Accordingly, if you will now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status this moratorium may affect our ability to employ you should you be selected as the final candidate. ---------------- The Texas Juvenile Crime Prevention Center (TJCPC) at Prairie View A&M University is a rapidly growing Center mandated by the Texas Legislature to provide research leading to policy, training and programming to reduce juvenile delinquency. TJCPC is seeking a highly motivated, experienced and enthusiastic Senior Researcher to lead the Division of Research. This person will develop, design, and manage research projects while acquiring research funding, and leading a multi-disciplinary team that successfully executes a variety of research projects. The salary is determined in accordance with the University’s compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates’ education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position. Responsibilities Lead in planning and performing quantitative and qualitative research procedures in various prevention/intervention areas related to juveniles and their families. Lead the development, design and execution of large and complex research projects; and participate in the development and implementation of research protocols. Plan, design and execute program evaluation plans including data collection and data analysis. Lead in acquiring research funding including writing grant proposals. Travel to and from research study sites, for conference presentations and professional development. Author high quality research reports, standards contributions and presentations to team members of the Center in order to develop training, policy and programming. Author high-quality research for publications to be read by academic, practitioner and public stakeholders. Ensure all processes are within university and partner organizations' protocol. Mentor and supervise the Research Division personnel and doctoral students. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience: Ph.D. in applicable Social Science field. Eight years of related experience. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of statistical analyses and statistical analyses software. Knowledge of research in practical and/or basic sciences and scientific publications. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to present information clearly and concisely. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently once given a project Ability to teach statistical analyses and statistical analyses to team members and doctoral students. Preferred Qualifications An active research agenda in juvenile justice Demonstration of published works with large data sets and complex statistical analysis Nine years of social science research experience Experience in authoring research publications, presentations and standards contributions documenting results of large-scale network measurement, modeling and analysis research. Other Requirements Some travel may occur to research sites in the State of Texas and also to present at national conferences.
