Job Summary

The Solutions Engineer partners with account teams to assess customer environments and support the design of tailored infrastructure solutions that align with business and technical requirements. This role combines technical expertise with strong customer engagement, helping to position solutions across Data Center, Cloud, Network, Security, and Services portfolios. The Solutions Engineer works closely with internal teams, OEM partners, and customers to deliver technical guidance, support sales efforts, and drive successful solution adoption.

This role will require location in the NJ territory.

Role Description

• Collaborate with account teams to evaluate customer data center environments and understand current infrastructure and technology needs.

• Design and recommend infrastructure solutions that align with customer requirements, budgets, and business objectives.

• Support the development of solution proposals, including technical documentation and configurations.

• Build and maintain working relationships with OEMs and technology partners to stay current on product updates and capabilities.

• Provide technical support and product training to sales teams and customers to enhance solution understanding and positioning.

• Partner with Field Account Executives to support customer engagements and act as a technical resource throughout the sales cycle.

• Assist in managing the solutions pipeline by supporting opportunity identification, qualification, and solution alignment.

• Identify opportunities across Data Center, Cloud, Networking, Security, Collaboration, and Services offerings.

• Participate in customer meetings to present solutions and respond to technical questions.

• Contribute to the development of technical selling skills within the sales organization through training and knowledge sharing.

Skill Level Requirements

• Working knowledge of data center technologies, including hybrid cloud, virtualization, and infrastructure solutions.

• Familiarity with technologies such as hypervisors, containerization, software-defined data center (SDDC), and automation tools.

• Experience supporting pre-sales activities and communicating technical value to customers.

• • Understanding of leading technology platforms (e.g., Dell, HPE, Cisco, NetApp, Pure Storage, AWS, Azure, VMware, Nutanix).

• Knowledge of data protection, disaster recovery, and high availability concepts.

• Ability to translate technical features into business value for customers.

Other Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience required.

• 3–5 years of experience in a Solutions Engineer, pre-sales, or similar technical role.

• Relevant certifications in infrastructure, cloud, or vendor technologies preferred.

• Willingness to travel to customer, partner, and company events as needed.

The base salary range for this position is $112,000 – $182,000 . The estimated on-target earnings, or OTE, which includes a base salary and bonus, are $160,000 - $260,000. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
