Job Summary:

Reading Anthracite Company is seeking a skilled and experienced Welder to join our 2nd shift team . The Welder will be responsible for performing welding and metal fabrication work related to the maintenance, repair, and construction of mining equipment and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding within an industrial or mining environment, with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform welding and metal fabrication tasks including MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Core welding on a variety of materials such as steel, aluminum, and other alloys.
• Repair and maintain mining equipment, machinery, and infrastructure, such as conveyors, crushers, loaders, and shovels.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine the appropriate welding processes and techniques.
• Conduct inspections of equipment and structures to identify welding requirements and ensure all welding work meets quality standards.
• Operate welding and cutting equipment safely, following all safety protocols and company policies.
• Use grinders, torches, and other tools to prepare metal surfaces for welding.
• Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to troubleshoot and solve equipment-related issues.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each job.
• Perform regular inspections and maintenance of welding equipment to ensure it is in safe and proper working condition.
• Adhere to all company safety regulations, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and participate in safety meetings and training sessions

• High school diploma or equivalent; a technical certificate in welding or metal fabrication is preferred.
• Certification from a recognized welding association (e.g., AWS, CWB) is an asset.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of welding experience in an industrial, mining, or heavy equipment environment.
• Proficient in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-Core) and in using welding tools and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of safety practices and procedures in a mining or industrial setting.
• Good physical condition and ability to lift heavy materials, work in confined spaces, and operate in varying weather conditions.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
