HR Generalist

We are urgently seeking HR Generalist based in Nevada City, CA (Onsite) Title: HR Generalist Job Type: Full-Time Duration: Direct Hire Position Summary The HR Generalist will be responsible for managing key HR operations, ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies, and overseeing employee onboarding and offboarding processes. This role requires a seasoned HR professional who can independently manage core HR responsibilities while supporting a positive employee experience across the organization. Key Responsibilities Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies. Manage and oversee the full employee onboarding and offboarding process. Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation. Coordinate and schedule employee training programs, certifications, and compliance-related learning activities. Partner with managers to support HR processes, policy interpretation, and employee relations. Assist with benefits administration, policy updates, and HR communications. Support HR audits and maintain compliance documentation. Track required employee training and ensure timely completion. Assist with HR reporting, recordkeeping, and process improvements. Collaborate with leadership to support organizational goals and foster a positive workplace culture. Required Qualifications Proven experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar senior-level human resources role. Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and best practices. Demonstrated experience managing employee onboarding and offboarding processes. Experience coordinating and scheduling employee training programs (delivery of training is not required). Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Preferred Qualifications Experience with ADP, Paychex, or similar Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and payroll platforms. Previous experience in the logistics, transportation, or trucking industry is a plus, but not required. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) is a plus. What We're Looking For A senior HR professional with a strong foundation in HR compliance and employee lifecycle management.
