Manufacturing Engineering Technician – Electrical & Maintenance

Location: Franklin, IN
Shift: 1st Shift 7:00am-3:45pm
Pay: $51,766–$81,651 annually, depending on experience
Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Electrical Technical Specialist  for a direct-hire opportunity with an established manufacturing operation in Franklin, Indiana.

This is a hands-on technical position supporting manufacturing equipment, maintenance improvements, equipment modifications, and continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with Maintenance, Engineering, and other technicians to analyze equipment issues, recommend solutions, maintain technical documentation, and support the implementation of new and modified equipment.

This position is a strong fit for someone who enjoys not only troubleshooting manufacturing equipment but also identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability, processes, and overall performance.

Core Responsibilities

• Investigate equipment and process problem areas, evaluate potential solutions, implement approved changes, monitor results, and make additional recommendations as needed.
• Prepare and submit written proposals for machine modifications, procedural changes, and department training activities, including appropriate supporting documentation.
• Maintain current blueprint files and update or revise drawings as necessary.
• Make equipment or design changes as needed and ensure modifications are properly documented through updated blueprints.
• Analyze equipment, maintenance, and operational issues and provide recommendations to the Maintenance and Engineering departments.
• Work collaboratively with other technicians to share technical knowledge, strengthen troubleshooting capabilities, and apply best practices.
• Develop and maintain appropriate spare-parts and tooling inventory levels based on department needs and established budget requirements.
• Participate in the selection and evaluation of new equipment and provide recommendations to management regarding equipment purchases.
• Provide budget information necessary to support assigned maintenance and technical responsibilities.
• Provide appropriate technical training related to new equipment and equipment changes.
• Support company and department objectives through continuous improvement, technical problem-solving, and effective collaboration.

Education & Experience

• Technical Diploma or Associate degree in a related technical field required.
• 2–4 years of related experience required.
• 4–6 years of related experience preferred.
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment strongly preferred.
• Ability to analyze technical problems, evaluate alternatives, and recommend practical solutions.
• Experience reading, maintaining, and updating blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong written documentation and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with Maintenance, Engineering, and other technical team members.
