SUMMARY

You are a digital-first content manager who brings order, accuracy, and consistency to everything you touch. The Digital Content Specialist will serve as a key member of the communications team, responsible for supporting ZERO TO THREE's digital content across websites, social media and email. Reporting to the Editorial Manager, the successful candidate brings proven experience in website management, digital content production, and project coordination in a fast-paced communications environment. This role is the operational backbone of ZERO TO THREE’s digital presence: ensuring content is current, accurate, accessible, and optimized across every channel. You are detail-oriented and organized, motivated by keeping systems running smoothly, and ready to play a central role in delivering a consistent and engaging digital experience for ZTT's audiences.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as the primary owner of ZERO TO THREE websites, managing page builds, content updates, homepage features, and ongoing site maintenance in coordination with the Editorial Manager and program teams. Apply SEO and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) best practices to every web build and content update, optimizing pages, metadata, and content structure to drive search visibility, organic growth, and citation in AI-generated responses. Optimize website content and page layouts using UX and web accessibility best practices to create an intuitive and engaging website experiences. Produce and publish digital content across web, email, and social platforms to support organizational priorities and campaigns. Assist with social media asset creation, including graphics, carousels, and short-form content using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or in-platform editing tools. Lead production of internal and external newsletters, including coordinating content, writing, and delivering on schedule for deployment. Coordinate with web development vendors to troubleshoot technical issues, prioritize enhancements, and ensure timely resolution of site maintenance needs. Manage incoming digital content requests and maintain project status through Asana, ensuring work moves efficiently from intake through launch. Stay current on digital trends, emerging platforms, and best practices in content marketing and audience engagement. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the department.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Minimum 3-5 years of related experience in website management, digital content, or communications with a strong focus on web operations Proven track record managing website builds and content updates; WordPress CMS proficiency required Strong writing skills across formats including web copy, social copy, short-form editorial, and newsletter content Working knowledge of UX and SEO principles and experience applying best practices to web content Ability to produce basic on-brand graphics and digital assets using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools Strong project management skills with attention to detail, adherence to deadlines, and consistent follow-through Proficiency with social media platforms and an interest in emerging digital communications trends Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment where priorities shift Comfortability learning new software and digital tools quickly Team player with superb communication and interpersonal skills

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in communications, journalism, digital media, English, advertising, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in a digital content or web management role.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This position's salary is estimated to be mid $50,000s to mid $70,000s depending on experience, geo-location, budget, and other comparable and similarly scoped internal positions. In addition to salary, ZERO TO THREE offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, HRA, retirement contributions, generous leave benefits and more.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is frequently required to use finger dexterity and sufficient hand dexterity to use a computer keyboard and be capable of reading a computer screen. Also, they may need to remain seated for extended periods, can perform repetitive motions, and reach for objects. An employee is frequently required to hold a writing instrument, communicate verbally, and hear well enough to detect nuances and receive detailed information. They may be required to grasp objects, push, and pull objects, bend, stand, walk, squat, or kneel. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision for data preparation or analysis, and expansive reading. May need to lift up to 30 pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The work conditions described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing this job. Depending on work location, the incumbent will typically work indoors in a heated and air-conditioned office, with a mixture of natural, incandescent, and fluorescent light with low to moderate noise levels or be subject to working conditions conducive to a home environment. When travel is expected, the incumbent will be exposed to outside environmental conditions during those times.
