Job Description The Physical Therapist Clinician II is responsible for delivering physical therapy care to the assigned patient population and documenting this care in the hospital medical records. The therapist acts as a consultant to various patient populations and provides instruction to support staff, students, and family members. Therapists may rotate through different clinical service areas. Requirements for Hire Licensed (or licensure eligible) by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Physical Therapist Current license by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Physical Therapist Current CPR Certification if required by clinic or practice area Experience & Education Minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Physical Therapist Graduate of an accredited School of Physical Therapy Masters or Doctoral Degree from an accredited School of Physical Therapy (preferred) Responsibilities Patient evaluation and intervention implementation Discharge planning Ordering equipment Representing department during rounds and discharge conferences Scheduling and billing patients Supervisory responsibilities of staff and students (if applicable) Sharing in weekend and holiday schedules, with hours from 8 AM to 7 PM based on patient needs Additional Details Physical requirements include lifting 50-100 lbs, frequent bending, walking, climbing, reaching, and repetitive motions. The role requires strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, clear speech, and adaptability to a fast-paced, noisy environment with multiple priorities. Shift: 8:15 AM – 4:45 PM, primarily outpatient but may rotate into acute care for holidays/PTO coverage. Age groups served: Pediatrics, Adolescence, Adult, Geriatric.
