About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: High Acuity Float Pool - ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Days Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU or high acuity License: WA or Compact License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Epic experience - Prior floating experience Description: The position requires experience in a high acuity environment, specifically within ICUs. Assignments may involve care for medical, surgical, neuro, and cardiac patients. Nurse-to-patient ratios are based on acuity, typically 1-2 patients, with potential for 1-3 patients for lower acuity assignments. Common titratable drips include Epi, Norepi, Dobutamine, Propofol, Esmolol, Hydromorphone, and Midazolam. Charge nurses and resource nurses do not take assignments to ensure support for the team. Nurse aids are available to assist with patient care based on daily census. The unit utilizes various respiratory equipment, including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP. Monitoring techs are present, and RNs are responsible for reading cardiac strips. Self-scheduling is permitted, and there is a requirement for three weekend shifts per schedule. Holiday requirements are also in place. Assignments are created by charge nurses who coordinate the daily schedule. The dress code for the unit is royal blue. Cancellation policies allow for a certain number of shifts to be canceled per assignment duration. Overall, the position requires flexibility and adaptability, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment.
