Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.We have an immediate opportunity to join the Corporate Environmental Remediation Team as the Manager of Environmental Engineering 3 at our Bethpage, New York location.The incumbent will serve as a member of the environmental remediation team with direct responsibility for the success of onsite remediation projects and the performance of remediation project team under his/her direction.The successful candidate must have a solid understanding of federal and state environmental laws and regulations, project management methodologies, remediation technologies, agency and community interaction, and cost and project controls.  Candidate must have the ability to drive change, lead cross-functional engagements with Corporate and Aeronautic sector leadership, legal, finance, real estate, and EHS teams, and build relationships at all levels of the organization and with external vendors and suppliers. Key responsibilities include:Oversee execution of project strategies, forecasts, budgets, plans, and goalsDirect and guide technical planning and implementation of remedial activities to ensure project successReview/approve/monitor project-specific scope, schedule, and budgetCompile project status and financial data for management reviewsParticipate in quarterly financial and performance reviewsProvide QA/QC on agency deliverables from project team members and contractorsOversee contractor bidding, selection and contract award processEnsure compliance with applicable environmental health and safety requirements (e.g., RCRA, CERCLA, OSHA)Oversee purchase requisition and invoice review and approval processesPerform routine program troubleshooting functionsImplement sustainable remediation practices where applicable Communicate with internal and external stakeholders on project status and milestonesAchieve a mutually agreeable resolution with multiple stakeholders with various interest and driversManage a staff of remediation engineersAssess project issues and develop solutionsProvide for coaching and mentoring staff and sustaining engagementBasic Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree and 15+ years of experience in the field of environmental remediation OR Master’s Degree and 13+ years of experience in the field of environmental remediationRequired experience includes at least a BS degree from an accredited institution with a focus in an engineering field (including environmental, chemical, civil, and mechanical) or relevant science field (including environmental science and geology)Proven environmental remediation savvy and applicationA minimum of 10 years of project management experience in field operations and remedial constructionTakes ownership and is accountable with an “owners” mindsetProven ability to build relationships and work effectively with local, state and federal regulatory staff and leadershipDemonstrates resiliency and is an effective leader amidst changeActs with speed meeting internal/external customer requirementsStrong interpersonal skills, an exceptional self-starter attitude, and the ability to produce in a dynamic, fast-paced environmentStrong business/financial acumen, keen organizational skills, and excellent problem-solving abilityPreferred Qualifications:Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) accreditation is preferredPreferred familiarity with New York State Environmental RegulationsPreferred experience working with NYSDEC (New York State Department of Environmental Conservation) and NYSDOH (New York State Department of Health)Preferred experience working with US EPA Region 2Primary Level Salary Range: $159,500.00 - $239,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
