Summary of Responsibilities

We are seeking an Intervention Specialist to deliver Children's Habilitation Intervention Services (CHIS) to children and youth with developmental disabilities and functional or behavioral needs. The Intervention Specialist provides person-centered, evidence-informed services in the home and community, completes assessments and implementation plans, and ensures compliance with Idaho Medicaid and state regulations. This position works under the monthly supervision of an Intervention Specialist or Intervention Professional.

Specific Duties

1. Deliver all types of CHIS — including habilitative skill building, behavioral intervention, and crisis intervention — in home and community settings.
2. Complete comprehensive assessments and develop, sign, and implement individualized implementation plans tied to each participant's identified needs.
3. Collect and document session data, track progress toward objectives, and maintain records that meet Idaho Medicaid documentation standards.
4. Ensure compliance with Idaho Medicaid, the Children's DD Program, HIPAA, and applicable licensing standards, including IDAPA 16.03.26.
5. Participate in monthly supervision, quality assurance activities, and required annual training.
6. Coordinate with families, service coordinators, and the clinical team; offer copies of implementation plans to parents or legal guardians and support continuity of care.

Qualifications, Education & Experience

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a human services field (e.g., sociology, psychology, special education, counseling); or a bachelor's degree in another field plus a minimum of 24 semester credits in a human services field.
• A minimum of 1,040 hours of paid, verifiable supervised experience working with individuals birth to 21 years of age who demonstrate functional or behavioral needs.
• Completion of the competency requirement by one of the following: a Department-approved competency checklist; a minimum of 40 hours of applied behavior analysis (ABA) training delivered by a certified/credentialed trainer; or a current Idaho Habilitative Intervention (HI) Certificate of Completion.
• For staff completing or supervising assessments: a minimum of 10 hours of documented training and 5 hours of supervised experience in completing comprehensive assessments and implementation plans.
• Current CPR and First-Aid certification (or ability to obtain prior to service delivery) and maintenance thereafter.
• Knowledge of Medicaid and applicable state regulations; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and EHR systems.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse populations.
• Must pass a background check and medical clearance.
• Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and current auto insurance.

Physical Demands

This role requires walking, standing, reaching, bending, and climbing stairs. Duties may involve moving supplies and equipment, lifting materials, and sitting at a desk for extended periods.

Schedule & Compensation

• Job Type: Full-Time
• Pay: $2,000 bi-weekly (Salaried)
• Shift: 8-hour day shift, Monday through Friday
