Steward/Dishwasher

As Steward at Andaz, you play a key role to ensure a clean and sanitary work environment in the kitchen, staff cafeteria and stewarding areas, and to wash, clean and stock operating equipment and kitchen utensils.

What is expected of me in this role?

• To ensure that the assigned place of work and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times.

• To perform general cleaning duties as assigned by culinary leadership

• Keep all kitchen, stewarding and staff cafeteria areas clean at all times

• To clean and wash dishes according to the established performance standards.

• To clean and wash pots, pans and other kitchen utensils according to performance standards.

• To empty rubbish bins according to scheduled garbage runs.

• To strictly adhere to the opening and closing procedures established for the department.

• To have a thorough understanding and knowledge of all cleaning procedures, use of dishwashing machines and the type of chemicals to be used.

• To treat all operating equipment and supplies carefully to minimize damage and reduce wastage.

• To assist in carrying out quarterly, bi-yearly, yearly inventory of operating equipment.

• To work in a supportive and flexible manner with colleagues.

Skills and Qualifications

• Excellent organizational and time management abilities to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities.

• Solid understanding of food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, and regulatory compliance.

• Requires full flexibility, ability to work weekends, evenings, nights and holidays and a on varied schedule, ability to work long shifts and supervisor all outlets.

• While performing the duties of this job, the colleague is regularly required to sit; stand; bend; walk; reach, pull, use hands or fingers; or feel objects, tools or controls; may need to lift boxes (up to 30 lbs).
