The department advances the state of cyber security whileleveragingthe functionality and cost efficiencies of advanced architectures and technologies.The department is part of MITRE Technology & Engineering, driving mission impact by delivering nation-leading, differentiated capabilities to a rich set of consequential national programs across the six Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs) that MITRE leads. The position requires direct in-person contributions to ourAlbuquerque-based Sponsor. Colorado Springs candidates will be considered but frequent travel to Albuquerque is required. This is an onsite position for Albuquerque candidates.Develop and deliver innovative and secure architectures, solutions and strategies for enterprise IT and the cloud for government customersProvide recommendations on ensuring systems are specified, designed, developed, implemented, integrated, and sustained to meet security, resiliency, and safety needs,goalsandobjectives Research and develop unique,cutting-edgetechnical capabilities and processes for understanding, assessing, and analyzing system and technology resilience and security Collaborate with senior government officials, providing technical and strategic advice to cyber challengesidentifiedby the governmentApply knowledge of network architectures, security technologies, zero trust and cyber threats toprovidecustomers the ability to protect, detect, and respond to cyber-attacks directed against customer systemsLeverage your vision andexpertiseto advance the state of the art in the use of AI/ML and zero trust to improve the security posture of government systems.Basic Qualifications:Typically requires minimum of 8 years of related experience with aBachelor’sdegree; 6 years of related experience with aMaster’sdegree; or 3 years of related experience with a PhD; or an equivalent combination of related education and work experienceAdvanced ability to architect secure solutions at the enterprise level and to apply zero trust principles to the architecture of complex systemsExpertiseapplying security controls and best practices for network security, identity and access management, application security, data protection, and endpoint securityKnowledge of security logging, telemetry, analytics, and orchestration technologies and their application within enterprise security architectures and zero trustExperience creating security reference architectures, standards, and design patterns for enterprise useFamiliarity with emerging security technologies and patternsStrong knowledge of common attack techniques and threat landscapesExperience with cybersecurity technologies and tools, trends, and emerging capabilitiesAbility to lead and work with others to solve challenging technical problemsStrong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences to include government senior executivesMust possess a Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret ClearancePer the U.S. Government’s eligibility requirements for a clearance, U.S. Citizenship is required.This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-sitePreferred Qualifications: Relevant professional certificationsUnderstanding of security architecture frameworks and methodologiesExperience conducting or consuming threat modeling and translating results into design requirementsExperience with U.S. Government policy guidance, including NIST RMF, NIST CSF, DoD 8500, CNSSI Instructions, Cybersecurity Executive Orders, NIST SP 800 Series instructions, and NISPOMRecognizedexpertisein space systems, space and ground mission platforms, mission applications, and modeling & simulationFamiliarity with digital modelling and leveraging functional network digital twins to the point accelerate cyber testing functions as early as possible in the acquisition lifecycle.Experience in incorporating the digital models into the cyber exercises and test range environments.Electronic Warfare & RF Engineering: Deep understanding of EW pillars: Electronic Attack (EA), Electronic Protection (EP), and Electronic Support (ES).Cyber Warfare & Exploitation: Technical knowledge of network protocols (e.g., IEEE 802.11, tactical datalinks, cellular, custom military waveforms) and protocol stacks. Understanding of vulnerability research, payload delivery mechanisms over RF mediums, and embedded systems exploitation.
