Engineering Manager

Engineering ManagerM Force Partners is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead engineering operations, personnel, product development, and technical projects within a manufacturing environment. This position will be responsible for structuring and operating the engineering department as a cohesive unit while ensuring projects are completed according to customer requirements, quality standards, budgets, and timelines.The Engineering Manager will oversee simultaneous engineering projects, manage CNC programming engineers, support continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure engineering data including BOMs, manufacturing drawings, and engineering change orders are accurately maintained within the ERP system.The ideal Engineering Manager combines strong technical and manufacturing knowledge with hands-on leadership, project management, team development, and the ability to deliver manufacturable solutions that meet customer needs.Key ResponsibilitiesLead engineering projects, personnel, procedures, and work instructionsEstablish long-term engineering objectives, performance standards, and departmental prioritiesEnsure engineering projects are completed within established budgets, schedules, and customer requirementsManage and provide technical direction to CNC programming engineers and their assigned projectsOversee product development activities from customer and sales requirements through manufacturable designEnsure BOMs, manufacturing drawings, engineering change orders (ECOs), and other engineering data are accurately created and maintained within the ERP systemImplement job review and continuous improvement processes to improve machining procedures and manufacturing performanceSupport continuous improvement projects and 5S initiatives throughout engineering and manufacturing operationsMaintain engineering processes and documentation in accordance with Quality Management System requirementsProvide hands-on technical guidance, project management, mentorship, and support to engineering personnelAssess engineering team capabilities, performance, development needs, and resource requirementsHire and direct engineering resources necessary to meet project commitmentsManage multiple engineering and product development projects of varying complexityMonitor current industry and manufacturing technology trends to support continued technical advancementApply practical knowledge of good machining practices to engineering and manufacturing activitiesMaintain accurate engineering and project records within the ERP systemCollaborate with management, sales, manufacturing, and other teams to support customer and business requirementsEnsure compliance with workplace safety policies, procedures, and objectivesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) with 5+ years of industry engineering experience, including at least 3 years in an engineering management position, OR 10+ years of industry engineering experience with at least 5 years in an engineering management position in lieu of a BSMEEngineering experience within a manufacturing or machining environmentDemonstrated engineering team leadership and team-building experienceExperience managing multiple technical projects simultaneouslyKnowledge of CNC machining and good machining practicesExperience with engineering documentation including BOMs, manufacturing drawings, and engineering change ordersExperience working with ERP systemsWorking knowledge of CAD softwareStrong project management, problem-solving, change management, and relationship management skillsAbility to provide hands-on technical direction and mentorship to engineering personnelStrong written and verbal communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft OfficePreferred QualificationsExperience directly managing CNC programming engineersExperience with continuous improvement and machining process improvement initiativesExperience working within a documented Quality Management SystemExperience supporting 5S and other manufacturing improvement programsProduct development experience within a precision machining or related manufacturing environmentJob Presented by M Force PartnersM Force Partners is a specialized recruitment partner connecting top-tier talent with leading organizations.
