Machine Shop SupervisorAn established U.S. precision manufacturer is seeking an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor to lead a small CNC machining department in a hands-on working-supervisor capacity. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled programmer-machinist who can independently take work from print through programming, setup, prove-out, inspection, and production while training others and taking ownership of day-to-day shop operations.The CompanyEstablished U.S. manufacturer producing highly engineered precision components in a quality-driven, regulated manufacturing environment.Operates a high-mix, low-volume environment with significant variety in parts, quantities, setups, and machining requirements.Small, hands-on Machine Shop where technical depth, versatility, troubleshooting ability, and individual ownership are highly valued.The Compensation$65-85K Base Compensation Range Commensurate with ExperienceRelocation Assistance ConsideredThe LocationPlant based in Naples, FLRole is 100% Onsite Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PMThe BenefitsMedical, Dental & Vision Insurance (Benefits Eligibility Begins on First Day of Full-Time Employment)Health Savings Account (HSA) with Employer Contribution401(k) Retirement Plan with Company MatchCompany-Paid Basic Life & AD&D Insurance + Short- and Long-Term Disability CoveragePTO Accrued at 2.77 Hours per Week Beginning on First Day of Employment + 12 Paid HolidaysEmployee Assistance Program & Tuition Assistance ProgramClose-Knit, Family-Oriented Culture with Employee Celebrations & Company EventsThe RoleReport to the Operations Manager and lead the day-to-day Machine Shop while remaining actively involved in CNC programming, setup, machining, troubleshooting, and inspection.Program, set up, prove out, and run CNC mills and lathes, including indexed machining operations.Develop machining processes from engineering drawings and models, including tooling, workholding, setup, and operation sequence.Troubleshoot programming, tooling, setup, dimensional, and machine-related issues to keep production moving efficiently.Perform and oversee close-tolerance machining and inspection to ensure quality requirements are met.Train, coach, and provide technical direction to machinists and operators while managing shop priorities and employee performance.Estimate job setup and run times and identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and manufacturing costs.The Background ProfileU.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required for ITAR/EAR-controlled workTechnical degree and 5+ years of directly related machining experienceDemonstrated ability to independently program, set up, operate, prove out, and troubleshoot Fadal CNC mills and Haas CNC lathesHands-on experience programming and setting up multi-axis CNC mills and lathes, including indexed machining operationsProficiency creating and modifying CNC programs using GibbsCAM, including indexing for CNC mill operationsStrong blueprint reading, machining math, cutting-tool selection, workholding, setup, and close-tolerance machining skillsPrevious experience training, leading, or supervising machinists or machine operatorsThe Ideal CandidateExperience in a high-mix, low-volume precision machining environmentAerospace, defense, or similarly demanding quality-controlled manufacturing experienceStrong manual-machining foundation with practical knowledge of cutting tools, feeds and speeds, and machining fundamentalsExperience working across both legacy and newer CNC equipmentExperience with complex, multi-operation parts and developing machining processes and setups from scratchExperience quoting machining work and estimating setup and run timesStrong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose why a machining process is not working and determine how to correct itHands-on leadership style with a strong sense of ownership for machines, tooling, quality, organization, and overall shop conditionPatient, credible trainer who enjoys developing less-experienced machinistsSelf-directed and willing to pitch in wherever needed to keep a small shop operating effectively
