Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU/PCU Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU License: WA License or Compact License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required; CRRN, PCCN preferred Must-Have: Minimum of 2 years experience in an ICU setting; specialty skills preferred such as management of Swans, Prismaflex CRRT, IABP, and Arctic Sun. Description: This role requires a minimum of two years of experience in an ICU setting. The unit typically consists of 24 beds with patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 for ICU level acuity and 1:3-4 for PCU level acuity. Common diagnoses include sepsis, COPD, COVID, pneumonia, and post-surgical recovery. Patients may require CRRT, Arctic Sun for post-cardiac arrest care, and overflow support from the cath lab. RNs are expected to titrate various ICU drips and manage sedation and vasoactive medications. Charge nurses and resource nurses are present on every shift. There is a support staff ratio of 1 CNA for every 8 patients, with 1:10 ratio at nights. A hospitalist or intensivist is available in-house 24/7, along with dedicated pharmacy support until 11 PM. Respiratory therapy services are also available in the ICU 24/7. All ICU nurses monitor patients actively and interpret strips from central monitoring systems. Shifts are self-scheduled for six-week periods and will require weekend work, particularly on Sundays. Holiday rotations will occur with permanent staff. Floating may be required to other units depending on patient needs. Professional scrub colors are required, and a unit-specific orientation will be provided. A flexible, team-oriented attitude is essential for this position. This role does not include call or standby requirements. Candidates are expected to have experience with Epic, ideally within the last year.
