Job Title and Location Buyer III – Eglin AFB, FL, US 32542 Job Description Responsible for the strategic sourcing and procurement of a broad range of parts, materials, and specialized services that exceed the Micro‑Purchase Threshold (MPT) and require competitive procurement. Ensures full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies throughout the acquisition life‑cycle.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Manage acquisitions from planning through contract closeout. Ensure procurement actions are conducted fairly, transparently, and in the best interest of the government. Maintain contract files in compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and DFARS. Perform post‑award contract administration: monitor contractor performance, process contract modifications, approve payments, and execute contract closeout procedures.

GENERAL DUTIES

Strategic sourcing and procurement of complex parts, materials, and specialized services. Oversee the entire life‑cycle of a contract, from acquisition planning to contract close‑out. Perform post‑award contract administration duties, including monitoring contractor performance, processing modifications, and approving payments. Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and provide guidance on purchasing processes. Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and DFARS. Use of Costpoint and other purchasing software. Demonstrated knowledge of the procurement process and standard contract types. Prepare requests for proposals (RFP), conduct bidders conferences, develop evaluation criteria, evaluate suppliers’ proposals, negotiate requirements, and recommend suppliers. Create purchase order documentation including Justification & Approval (J&A) aligned with company policies, FAR, and DFARS. Identify, evaluate, and select qualified suppliers to ensure on‑time delivery. Manage supplier relationships and monitor performance, overseeing the purchasing process from requisition to delivery. Organize and implement strategies to accomplish Small Business and Disadvantaged Plan goals. Job Requirements National Agency Check with Investigation (NACI) background investigation and drug test required. Security Clearance – Secret; must be able to obtain and maintain DoD‑issued clearance. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related field. Minimum of 2 to 4 years in federal government contracting or procurement. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Costpoint experience desirable. Excellent organizational and communication skills (verbal and written). Independent judgment and self‑starter with ability to multi‑task and high professionalism. Certified Acquisition Contracting (CAC) holder beneficial. Work Environment Performed in an environmentally controlled office setting on Eglin AFB, FL. Physical Demands Substantial movements of wrists, hands, and fingers; close visual acuity for data and computer use; very little heavy lifting required; may require long periods of sitting.
