Clerical Assistant 2 Position
The Clerical Assistant 2 position with the Department of Environmental Protection offers a meaningful way to support clean water efforts across the Commonwealth. You will help keep essential information organized and accurate while assisting staff and the public. This role provides a steady pace of tasks and a chance to grow your administrative skills. This position supports the Clean Water Program by handling essential clerical and data entry tasks that keep permitting processes moving efficiently. It requires careful attention to detail and regular communication with staff and applicants. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Data Entry Accuracy: Enter information into electronic systems while ensuring completeness and correctness
- Permit Intake: Process incoming Clean Water permit applications and log all fees into required systems
- Document Management: Prepare items for electronic uploading and assist with maintaining paperless records
- Bulletin Submissions: Submit weekly PA Bulletin notices and notify staff of published items
- Office Support: Answer calls, process mail, assist staff, and support general administrative operations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Limited term, full time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting hourly rate of $18.46 (before taxes).

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
