Maintenance Analyst Planner

Overview Join our team and play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of critical wastewater treatment and collection system assets. The Maintenance Analyst Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). This position works closely with maintenance, operations, engineering, and warehouse staff to optimize work execution, improve asset reliability, manage maintenance data, and support continuous improvement initiatives. About You The ideal Maintenance Analyst Planner is a highly organized and proactive professional who combines strong technical knowledge of maintenance operations with exceptional planning, analytical, and communication skills. They are capable of developing detailed work plans, coordinating resources, managing maintenance backlogs, and using CMMS data to drive efficiency and reliability improvements. A successful Maintenance Analyst Planner understands preventive, predictive, corrective, and reactive maintenance practices and can effectively prioritize work based on risk, operational impact, and available resources. They collaborate closely with operations, maintenance staff, engineering, and procurement personnel to ensure work is properly scoped, planned, scheduled, and documented. Most importantly, they use data and performance metrics to identify trends, improve asset reliability, optimize maintenance strategies, and support informed decision‑making across the organization. Responsibilities Perform administrative functions of maintenance management system Enter, update, and maintain data and scheduling information in the maintenance management system Compile and track benchmark and key performance indicator data used in decision‑making Research equipment maintenance needs, develop and manage equipment database, and input maintenance requirements Monitor procedural operations and identify areas for process improvement Research, prepare, and modify maintenance procedures and job plans Monitor maintenance procedures effectiveness Coordinate and address CMMS training needs Required Education and Experience Associate's Degree or 2 Years of College in Public Administration, Business Administration or related field; 3 to 5 years’ experience in utility system asset management, inventory control, or related work. OR any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted. Preferred Qualification Desired Maintenance Technologist - Grade III Level Certification (or ability to obtain within 3 years) or comparable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Standard practices, methods and materials of assigned work Basic mathematical concepts Filing and record‑keeping principles Data management methods and practices Occupational hazards and applicable safety principles and practices Uses and properties of supplies and equipment Applicable federal, state and local laws, codes, regulations (based on assignment) Customer service principles Specialized equipment relevant to area of assignment Modern office technology ADA and Other Requirements Work Environment and Physical Effort: Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. The employee may be required to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work also includes walking and standing only occasionally. Work Environment: Work is typically performed in an office or similar indoor environment. Employees may occasionally work in an outdoor environment, street environment (near moving traffic), construction sites, in a vehicle, warehouse and shop environment. Work Exposures: Employees may occasionally be exposed to individuals who are hostile or irate, extreme cold (below 32 degrees), extreme heat (above 100 degrees), and loud noises (85 decibels average over an 8‑hour working day such as heavy trucks, jack hammers, leaf blowers, lawn mowers, and construction).
