About the Role

As a Maintenance Technician at Zekelman Industries, Rochelle, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe repair and rebuild of tube mill production equipment to maximize equipment quality, uptime, rate, and yield. This role is perfect for someone who has strong electrical and mechanical aptitude, excels at troubleshooting, and thrives in a safety-focused, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Pay: $30.50 + Production Incentive

What You'll Do

• Performs electrical maintenance on production equipment while following Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and all safety procedures.
• Ensures all machine guards and safety equipment are in place and functional prior to equipment use.
• Monitors inventory levels and orders parts, equipment, and supplies as necessary.
• Utilizes manual and computerized maintenance management systems to track and report equipment status.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, manuals, and schematics to perform diagnostic and repair tasks.
• Troubleshoots and resolves electrical, mechanical, and quality issues, escalating as needed.
• Executes breakdown repairs, preventive maintenance, and changeovers to maintain operational efficiency.
• Observes mechanical devices in operation and uses precision instruments to diagnose issues.
• Fabricates repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company standards.
• Operates powered industrial trucks, overhead cranes, and portable cranes.
• Supports continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
• Complies with OSHA regulations and promotes a safety-first culture.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Who You Are

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, preferably in maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent; apprenticeship, journeyman training, military experience, or equivalent technical training preferred.
• Proficient with hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and interpreting technical documents.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with electrical systems and PLCs.
• Effective communication skills in English and ability to perform basic math.
• Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving ability in a dynamic, safety-conscious setting.
• Able to pass job-related testing, a physical exam, and drug screening.
• Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach to work.

Physical Abilities

• Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds.
• Stands or walks for extended periods during the shift.
• Frequently bends, twists, stoops, kneels, crawls, sits, and reaches in all directions.
• Meets all other physical demands required for the role.
