Assistant to the Executive Director for Special Education
Intermediate Unit 1
The Assistant to the Executive Director for Special Education is responsible for the leadership and coordination of the Intermediate Unit 1 (IU1) special education programs for students ages 3-22. This Executive Leadership Team Position serves as a liaison to the Pennsylvania Department of Education, member school districts, parents and families, and community agencies in the area of special education. This position oversees the regulatory compliance of the Early Intervention and School‑Age Special Education Programs, while ensuring students with disabilities receive a Free and Appropriate Public Education. Requirements A minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience PDE Supervisory/Principal Certification Superintendent Letter of Eligibility EOE #J-18808-Ljbffr Intermediate Unit 1
