Practical Nurse

Duties
Help
Performs practical nursing duties within the special care area of Labor and Delivery.
Maintains a sterile field, prepping surgical instruments, and anticipating the needs of the surgeon.
Performs instrument and sponge counts according to hospital policy to ensure patient safety.
Conducts immediate post-delivery newborn assessments (vital signs)
Assisting with post-delivery maternal recovery monitoring.
Ensures labor rooms and the dedicated Labor and Delivery Operating Room are fully stocked and prepped for admissions and emergencies.
