License: Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant License. Certifications: - Must-Have: - Knowledge and skills necessary to treat frail, elderly participants with complex needs. - Highly motivated, self-directed, and able to execute tasks in a quickly changing environment. - Excellent clinical, organizational, and communication skills in settings with seniors and their families. - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. - Demonstrated ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. - Experience and competency working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. - Commitment to unlocking the full potential of vulnerable seniors. Description: The Occupational Therapist Assistant, under the direction of an Occupational Therapist, is responsible for assisting with performing tests and providing restorative and rehabilitative Occupational Therapy services. This role aims to maximize participant independence and safety and enhance performance of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). The Occupational Therapist Assistant will collaborate with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement the plan of care established by the Occupational Therapist. Main responsibilities include administering participant treatment programs, assisting in obtaining vital signs, range of motion, and strength testing. Coordination with the rehabilitation team to implement individual treatment plans is essential. This position also involves scheduling participant treatment, clinical visits, and documenting Occupational Therapy interventions. Training staff, participants, and caregivers in the use and care of therapeutic equipment is part of the role. It is important to remain alert to input from team members and promptly update any changes in participants’ conditions. Participation in end-of-life care coordination and support is expected under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist. Completing all required documentation promptly and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information is crucial. Adherence to the organization's policies and procedures, as well as engaging in Quality Improvement activities, is required. Regular communication with the supervisor and team regarding workload and priorities is necessary. Flexibility in performing assignments as business needs evolve is expected. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
