Local Contract Speech Language Pathologist - $58 per hour

Overview TalentBurst, Inc is seeking a local contract Speech Language Pathologist for a local contract job in Federal Way, Washington. Title: Speech Language Pathologist Length of assignment: 42 Weeks Shift: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM Minimum guarantee: 40 Hours Location: Federal Way, WA Responsibilities Supervise CFY temporary licensees, students, and support personnel according to state licensure requirements and professional standards. Maintain adherence to departmental and patient treatment schedule, timely clinical and billing documentation, and participate in patient care, staffing conferences and other meetings. Make referrals to other disciplines and agencies as needed. Consult with rehabilitation team and physicians to select appropriate therapeutic regimens. Adapt program and plan of care to patient needs. Promote a safe environment and enforce elimination of fire and safety hazards. Order and maintain supplies and equipment, and report repairs as needed. Prioritize patient service, ensuring residents and families receive high quality care in a compassionate atmosphere. Screen, examine, and evaluate patients: history, systems review, appropriate tests and measures, synthesize information, interpret findings, establish diagnosis, identify impairments, determine predicted level of improvement. Develop treatment goals and methods, collaborate with patients and caregivers, implement treatment plan, and complete documentation and record keeping. Apply therapeutic techniques in areas such as cognitive-communication, speech intelligibility, oral motor skills, swallowing disorders/dysphagia, perceptual abilities, orientation, memory, pragmatics, psychosocial expression, functional communication, and case management skills in the home and community. Coordinate acquisition of adaptive communication devices and instruct patients in use. Identify hearing deficits, refer appropriately for assessment, diagnosis, rehabilitation, or personal amplification. Choose appropriate activities suited to patient capacity, intelligence level, and interest. Instruct patients in required skills and techniques, evaluate progress, attitudes, and behavior related to rehabilitation potential. Perform routine reexamination as needed to modify or progress treatment plan. Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team and referring physician. Perform other related duties as required. Qualifications Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in applicable state(s) or proof of license eligibility. Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA or eligibility to participate as an ASHA Clinical Fellow. Valid driver’s license or reliable independent transportation to patients’ residences. Good organizational and time management skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Compliance Comply with legal requirements, standards, policies, and procedures, including the Compliance and Ethics Program, Standard/Code of Conduct, Federal False Claims Act, and HIPAA. Participate in required orientation and training programs. Promptly report concerns and suspected non-compliance to supervisor, Compliance Liaison, or Compliance Officer via the Integrity Hotline.
