Field Service Technician

Field Service Technician – Modern Packaging Automated Machinery Overview Install, commission, repair, and maintain modern packaging automated machinery at customer sites, performing both electrical and mechanical work. Troubleshoot, adjust equipment to meet efficiency rates, conduct audits, install upgrades, and provide operator training. Document all service activities in detailed site reports. Responsibilities Perform equipment startup, repair, and maintenance on medium to large‑scale industrial machinery. Troubleshoot and adjust machinery to achieve contracted efficiency rates. Conduct audits, install upgrades, and deliver follow‑up operator training. Document all service activities (installations, commissioning, repairs, upgrades) in detailed site reports. Recommend machine upgrades, retrofits, and spare parts that improve safety, performance, reliability, and inventory management. Train customer personnel during installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities. Support the Modern facility in Deer Park, NY by assembling, testing new machines, and participating in customer Factory Acceptance Tests. Qualifications High School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree in a related technical field (mechanical or electrical) preferred. 3+ years of experience as a Field Service Technician or similar, with machine startup, repair, and maintenance on medium to large‑scale equipment. Strong mechanical repair skills and ability to read part/assembly drawings and wiring schematics. Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLCs, VFDs, and servo controllers (preferred). Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong organizational, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication and customer‑service skills; ability to explain technical information clearly and train customer personnel. Self‑motivated, adaptable, able to work independently while maintaining a professional attitude. Travel Willingness to travel up to 75% domestically and internationally (passport required; occasional trips to Mexico and Canada). Benefits Base Salary Range: $28.00 – $37.00 an hour.
