This role reports to the Office Administrator.Position SummaryThe Immigration Paralegal position will provide organizational and practice specific support to attorneys in our highly specialized Immigration Department. Will assist the team in a wide range of business immigration matters including preparing various immigration petitions and applications. Candidate should also be flexible to work overtime as needed.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepares petitions/applications for various immigration-related matters (PERM, I-140, CP, AOS, Naturalization, H-1B, L, E-1/2, TN, O-1, J, EB-5)Prepares responses to sometimes complex requests for evidenceMaintains oversight of individual caseload to ensure timely completion of workResearches law, procedures and keeps track of immigration law updatesManages various administrative duties; maintains case management database, directs client contact- phone calls, emails, and postal correspondenceCreates and maintains reports as neededContacts USCIS and U.S. consulate/embassies, schedules visa appointment interviewsAssists in client intakes, prepares client mailings and submissions to various immigration officesLiaises with government agencies (DOL, USCIS, NVC) to troubleshoot issues as necessaryAssists with other department activities as needed, and performs additional duties and responsibilities as assignedQualificationsSkills & CompetenciesExcellent customer service skills and ability to work on multiple matters simultaneously in an organized manner and under minimal supervisionExcellent writing skillsAbility to communicate professionally and interact effectively with all levels of personnel, including management staff and support staffExcellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), professional demeanor and presentationAbility to be a proactive self-starter who understands the details within a much larger contextHigh attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectivelyFlexible and able to respond quickly and positively to shifting demandsPosition also requires the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlinesEducation & Prior ExperienceBachelor’s Degree or Paralegal certification or equivalent experience requiredMinimum of 3-5 years business immigration experience within a law firm with demonstrated knowledge of complex issues within the Immigration practice areaExperience in preparing immigrant and non-immigrant visa petitionsTechnologyComputer proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OutlookFamiliar with immigration case management systems (INSZoom)Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quicklyDemonstrates a basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI), including core capabilities, limitations, and importance of data privacy, accuracy, verification, and ethical considerations within a professional services environmentFamiliarity with or willingness to learn AI platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar tools) and incorporate them responsibly into day-to-day workflows to enhance daily work tasks as appropriate and/or directedProactive approach to learning and adapting to emerging AI and related technologies and contributes to a culture of innovationGT is an EEO employer with an inclusive workplace committed to merit-based consideration and review without regard to an individual’s race, sex, or other protected characteristics and to the principles of non-discrimination on any protected basis. #J-18808-Ljbffr Greenberg Traurig
