Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a telemetry/medical-surgical unit serving a high Medicare and geriatric population with multiple comorbidities, including patients with DM, COPD, cardiovascular disease, hepatic conditions, oncology diagnoses, sepsis, and alcohol withdrawal
• Manage and monitor cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Nitroglycerin; proficiency in at least 3 of these 5 drips is required
• Maintain and manage central lines in accordance with facility protocols
• Float within the hospital across applicable units (excluding L&D/Women's, ED, and Special Procedures) based on skill set and census needs
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
• Adhere to every-other-weekend coverage expectations and work every other holiday, with preference for coverage of Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve

Required Qualifications

• Active, valid California RN license required at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• IV start proficiency required
• Telemetry experience required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted (exception: 10+ years of experience in a teaching hospital with residents)
• Strong Medical-Surgical and Telemetry skills required; experience with cardiac drips and central lines required
• Must have 0–1 prior contract cancellations
• Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility; local travelers are not eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a teaching hospital environment with residents highly preferred
• Vascular and oncology nursing experience preferred
• ACLS, PCCN, or ONS certification preferred
• Proficiency in EPIC charting preferred
