CustodianHours: 2:30P - 11:00P Notes: Earn between $16.63-$23.81 (based on years of experience and shift) 8 Paid Holidays Healthcare, Retirement, Life Insurance District Annuity Benefits MatchQualifications:Has a high school diploma or G.E.D certificateHas the ability to read and follow written directionsHas the physical ability to perform heavy physical laborHas the ability to lift and move objects weighing at least 50 pounds numerous times per dayExhibits personal habits in keeping with the assigned responsibilitiesHas demonstrated ability to relate and work well with peopleDemonstrates aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilitiesReports To: PrincipalJob Goal: To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient place in which to learn, play, develop, and eat, and to provide staff with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient place to teach and eatPerformance Responsibilities:Be familiar with and follow written guidelines, policies, procedures and directions from supervisor related to job responsibilitiesKeep building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat and clean at all timesRegulate heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to ensure economical usage of fuel, water and electricityShovel, plow, and maintain walks, driveways and parking areas, as appropriateCheck daily to ensure that all exits are open and all panic hardware is working properly during the hours of building occupancyRaise the United States flag at or before 8:00 a.m. on each school day and lower it at assigned timeSweep, mop, wet-wash, and vacuum floors, and furniture and clean and polish fixtures and glass on schedule in assigned areasClean corridors after school each day and during the day when conditions require itScrub, hose down, and disinfect toilet floors daily, and clean all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily and during the day when conditions require itRemove waste and trash from buildingWash all windows on both sides at least twice each yearPerform such yard keeping as necessary to maintain safe and attractive environmentClean all chalkboards at least once a weekKeep all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservationReport immediately to the Principal any damage to school propertyRemain on the school premises during school work hours, and during non-school hours when attendance is required by the PrincipalAssume responsibility for the opening and closing of the building each day including lights, heat, windows and doorsMove furniture or equipment within the building as required for various activities as directed by the Principal or designeeComply with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish and wasteMake minor repairs such as chairs, desks, and locksPerform daily cleaning of kitchen including waste and trash removalShelve all deliveries in appropriate storage dry, refrigerated or frozenPerform other duties consistent with the position assigned as may be requested by the supervisorTerm of Employment: Hourly (Grade 20) 8 per day 40 per wk. 260 days 9 or 12 months Board approved 10-8-92 Revised 7/1/2015
