The Machine Test Engineer 2 has knowledge of operating a CNC machine, complex mechanical systems, and how they interact. The role requires a strong ability to troubleshoot problems and provide analysis of machine capability. The Engineer will bring a customer perspective to the test process. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Creates detailed test plans designed to cover both validation and verification of a new or modified G‑code and machine features. Develops automated test scripts using the proprietary Haas scripting language. Runs test parts designed to validate functionality of Haas machines and verifies the resulting part matches the print. Researches parameter and setting updates by running tests on machines using new software features, and may interview Programmers, Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Service, and Applications staff. Researches and reports all anomalies in bug tracking software. Releases standard and emergency software versions; validates features and bug fixes, generates and verifies release notes, completes release checklists, and provides information to other departments. Employees are expected to follow instructions and procedures and to escalate any issue impacting workflow or quality. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications 2 years as a Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineer. Ability to operate a CNC machine. Ability to program and post G‑code using CAD/CAM system. Strong ability to troubleshoot a problem. Experience in Microsoft Excel. Desired Qualifications Experience in reading and writing technical requirement documentation. Understanding of source‑control system. Education Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS/BFA/BSA) from a four‑year college or university is required, plus additional related experience, training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Major Manufacturing Engineering Industrial Engineering Mechanical Engineering Minimum Years of Experience 2‑4 years Language Skills Must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and/or governmental regulations in English. Must be able to write analytical and/or technical reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals and create instructional reference material. Able to speak effectively before groups, customers, employees of the organization and/or the general public. Mathematical Skills Must have an advanced understanding of mathematical concepts including probability, statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, trigonometry and/or calculus. Reasoning Ability Must have the ability to apply principles of logical and scientific thinking and work with a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Must be capable of dealing with a variety of abstract and/or concrete variables and interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram and/or schedule form.
