Provides administrative support to the Director of the Emergency Services Education Center, assisting with daily operations through a range of routine and complex tasks. Works with administrators, faculty, students, and the public to ensure efficient office functions and support program activities.This position reports to the Director of the Emergency Services Education Center and exercises no supervision.
NOTE: This is a security sensitive position, and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
SELECTION CRITERIA: The cover letter should address how the following knowledge, skills, and abilities were acquired: Knowledge of: 1. Department accreditation standards, rules, and regulatory requirements; 2. Applicable federal, state, and college policies, laws, and procedures; 3. Proper English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation; 4. Principles of confidential records management and file maintenance, both physical and electronic; 5. Standard office practices, procedures, and modern office equipment, including computers, scanners, and copiers; 6. Basic budgeting principles and financial tracking practices; Skills in: 7. Communicating clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing; 8. Using Microsoft Office applications, internal systems, and office technology; 9. Preparing correspondence, reviewing and editing documents for accuracy, clarity, and professionalism; 10. Working independently and applying critical thinking to solve problems; Ability to: 11. Provide excellent customer service to a diverse population; 12. Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation; 13. Learn and adapt to new software and systems; 14. Perform complex administrative duties using sound judgment and attention to detail; 15. Follow oral and written instructions; 16. Organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines; 17. Establish and maintain effective working relationships; 18. Handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality; 19. Coordinate schedules, maintain calendars, and arrange appointments; 20. Provide caring, high-quality service by creating welcoming experiences, communicating clearly and proactively, addressing needs with professionalism and empathy, and ensuring individuals are thoughtfully connected to appropriate resources.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Sedentary-Desk work; occasional field trips e.g. for college or program activities. Minimal Hazard/Exposure-Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.
QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Education: High School Diploma or GED Experience: More than one year of work experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Work experience in an emergency response occupation or higher education
