The RN has a responsibility to act as educator to their peers, patients, and their families. All aspects of the RN performance supports service excellence and a healing environment.* The nurse collaborates with the Radiologists in the planing of patient care.* The nurse may function in the pre, intra and post procedure care of the patient, rotating modalities daily.* The nurse will assist in diagnostic procedures as well as highly complex invasive neuro and peripheral interventions such as; cerebral aneurysm coils, AVM & AVF repairs and stroke interventions.* The nurse will be required to start IV’s and access and de-access ports.* The nurse will be required to administer conscious sedation and monitor sedated patients per hospital policy.* The nurses are responsible for the proper handling and documentation of specimens.* The nurses work collaboratively with the Admitting nurse in setting up home health needs or inpatient admissions.* The nurse will be responsible for being “on call” and nurses assigned to call must be available per the department on call policy.* The nurse is responsible for attending in-services and keeping abreast of best practices and new technology.* The RN identifies and communicates needed unit resources or equipment to be included in budget.* Performs other duties as assigned.**Team Member Competencies**Establishing RelationshipsBuilds effective networks, working relationships, and alliances in order to collaborate effectively within department and organization. The team member will need to frequently assist lifting patients and heavy equipment.
