Position Summary

Are you a hands-on problem solver? As a Maintenance Assistant , you will be responsible for facility and equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair in a manufacturing environment, while supporting environmental, health, and safety compliance. You will help keep machines, utilities, and systems running reliably, manage hazardous materials safely, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Key Requirements 

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience handling and storing hazardous materials 
• Excellent organizational skills
• Comfortable working with maintenance management systems
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, procedure instructions, equipment manuals, complex blueprints/electrical schematics, and work order documents
• Internally certified to operate a forklift
• Fluent and effective in English written and verbal communication; bilingual in Spanish is a plus

Core Responsibilities

• Manage oils and coolant for all equipment, including coolant concentration levels
• Support and maintain EHS programs
• Travel as necessary for training 
• Manage and coordinate scrap metal pickups
• Order regular maintenance supplies
• Maintain proper chemical storage 
• Handle, store, and dispose of chemicals, hazardous materials, hazardous waste, used oil, and other regulated waste in accordance with company procedures and applicable environmental requirements 
• Support environmental compliance activities, including stormwater sampling, wastewater protection, recycling, and the company's EHS and ISO 14001 program

Physical Requirements

• Frequent use of hands and arms
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks
• Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds
• Strong visual acuity and depth perception
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels
