Staff Accountant - Hybrid / Norwalk, CT

Our client, a growing real estate and property services organization, is seeking a Staff Accountant to support operational accounting and financial reporting activities. This role will focus on financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, month-end close, and reporting for a portfolio of assets and entities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and supporting reports
• Perform account, bank, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
• Record journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
• Support budget tracking and variance analysis
• Prepare reporting packages for internal and external stakeholders
• Partner with operations teams to support financial and accounting processes
• Assist with audits, special projects, and process improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Experience with Yardi required
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
• Experience with budgeting, mortgage accounting, or owner-level accounting is a plus
