Registered Nurse 1 – Correctional Nursing
Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse license and registration (required) BLS certification COVID-19 vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Provide direct nursing care to incarcerated individuals. Coordinate and clinically supervise Graduate Nurses, LPNs, and direct care staff. Perform health assessments and develop/implement nursing care plans. Provide case finding, health teaching, counseling, treatments, and nursing procedures. Consult with treatment teams and participate in interdisciplinary health teams.
Criminal History Form clearance required before start (may take up to 4 weeks). Valid state license required — no exceptions. Submittal requirements include SSN and DOB; RTO must be presented at the time of submittal. Accepts first-time travelers and local travelers at the same rate. Returning staff must have been away from any state facility for at least 2 years.
