Job Description
Exciting Opportunity for a Respiratory Therapist!

Job Description:


- Shift Details:
- 12H Days, Nights
- 3x12 hour shifts; Every Monday and Tuesday day shift
- Alternating Wednesday and Friday night shift

- Department: Respiratory
- RT Certification Required: CRT acceptable but prefer RRT
- Expected # of treatments per day: 50-75+ depending on census

- Team Structure:
- Days: 2 RTs for inpatient care, 1 RT for outpatient care
- Nights: 1 RT for inpatient care


- Certifications Required:
- BLS
- ACLS
- PCOT
- CRT acceptable but RRT preferred

- Patient Demographics:
- Mostly adults
- Additional care provided in ED for adults, pediatrics, and newborns


- Areas Covered:
- Inpatient, outpatient, and ED
- Future opportunities in Sleep Lab and possible cross-training in Pulmonary/Cardiac Rehab

- Experience Needed:
- Minimum of 2 years in specialty
- First-time travelers welcome
- Must possess ventilatory skills and ability to work independently
- Pediatric experience is a plus but not required

- Core Job Duties:
- Inpatient: Vent management, ABG draws, CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, Nebs, MDIs, Flutter/Airway Clearance
- Outpatient: Setting up nocturnal pulse oximetry, blood gas analysis

- Supervision Structure:
- No designated supervisor/lead RT or Charge RT
- Manager available 24/7 and on call for weekends/overnights

- Shifts & Scheduling:
- 12 hours: 5:45 AM - 6:15 PM
- Night shift may have only one RT on duty; lighter load if census is low
- Manager attempts to accommodate scheduling requests

- Weekend and Holiday Requirements:
- Every other weekend commitment
- Fill in needed for holiday coverage

- Equipment You'll Use:
- Hamilton Medical C1 & C3 Vents
- Masimo SoftFlow High Flows
- Masimo Pulse Oximeters
- GEM5000 ABG analyzer
- ResMed bedside CPAP/BiPAP

- Collaboration Environment:
- Team-oriented culture
- One person will be assigned to ER for lighter load

- Dress Code:
- Flexible scrub color; no specific uniform required

- Orientation Provided:
- 2-3 days of department-specific orientation

- Cancellation Policy:
- 2 shifts per 13-week contract allowed
