TAMPA, Florida 33613 Job Description Shift: mon-wed days in PET and weekend call in nuc med Operates radiation detection and measurement equipment to capture and record visual representations of radionuclide concentrations in specific body areas. Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients as directed by a radiologist. Reviews patient requisitions and charts with the radiologist before starting exams. Explains the nature of tests to patients to ensure compliance and understanding. Monitors contaminated articles and bed linens using a Geiger counter to prevent the spread of radioactivity. Keeps detailed records of tests conducted, test results, and the usage and disposition of radionuclides and body products containing them. Attends in‑services and maintains continuing education requirements. Participates in the Float pool to assist other areas when not busy. Provides patient transportation when needed.
