Job Description New England Donor Services is seeking an experienced ICU RN, Critical Care RN, Trauma Nurse, or Critical Care Respiratory Therapist to join as a Donation Coordinator. In this role you will respond on‑site to organ donor referrals to provide clinical expertise in donor evaluation, donor management, organ allocation, and organ recovery. You will blend high‑level clinical and people skills to educate hospital staff on the donation process, work with donor families to obtain consent for donation, and collaborate with multiple surgical teams and critical care staff to optimize organs for transplantation. Success in this position requires a self‑assured professional with keen clinical assessment skills, flexibility, and the ability to remain calm and effective in highly charged, clinically complex situations. Schedule Orientation: After a general company‑wide, week‑long onsite training (Waltham, MA) you will participate in a specialized organ donation training program. The New Hire Donation Academy is 3 days per week for the first 3 weeks in the Waltham office (generally Tuesday through Thursday on a day shift) plus additional training throughout the orientation program. Once classroom training is completed, new hires will participate in a mix of 16‑hour day and 12‑hour night on‑call shifts. Average 14 shifts per 4‑week schedule plus training and meetings. Significant travel with a personal vehicle throughout New England is expected (mileage and other reimbursements available). Independent night shifts: 12‑hour night shifts, 8:00 pm‑8:00 am shift (3 shifts per week) on a 4‑week schedule—up to 40 hrs per week. Travel and mileage reimbursements available. Qualifications Critical care or trauma experience with medical/clinical credentials and experience managing complicated clinical events. Valid driver’s license and insurance; reliable personal transportation; extensive driving throughout New England required. Critical thinking and keen clinical assessment skills. Compassionate with conflict‑resolution skills. Able to sit, stand or bend for extended periods. Strong work ethic, forward‑thinking, and ability to travel to Waltham Headquarters and various hospitals throughout New England. Education and Experience 3‑5 years of clinical experience in critical care. Bachelor’s Degree preferred; CPTC Certification a plus. Ideally living within one hour of Hartford, CT.
