The ER team provides triage, treatment and support for trauma and emergency patients of all ages in an acute care environment. The nurse will assume responsibility for a group of patients during the shift, coordinate care with physicians and other members of the health care team, and contribute to discharge planning and patient teaching. Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the ER for patients across the age spectrum as assigned by the unit.
• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes using the nursing process.
• Collaborate with physicians and other members of the health care team to coordinate timely and safe patient care.
• Manage triage, treatment, and ongoing monitoring of emergency patients; participate in discharge planning and patient education.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to licensed and unlicensed staff within scope of practice and clinical competence.

Requirements

• Active registered nurse license in California (RN)
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• ER experience preferred
• Ability to work nights and adapt to a fast-paced emergency department setting
• Competence in providing care to patients across neonatal through geriatric populations as assigned
