Plant Manager

A growing production operation in Orleans, IN is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead a brand‑new, highly automated egg production facility. This is a hands‑on leadership role overseeing daily plant operations, workforce management, equipment performance, and production through put.

The Plant Manager will begin approximately 1.5 months prior to plant opening, training at a nearby facility in Washington, IN to learn processes, equipment, and USDA compliance expectations.

What You’ll Do

• Lead all daily operations for a new production plant (approx. 25 employees)
• Oversee production scheduling, throughput efficiency, order fulfillment, and load‑time accuracy
• Partner daily with the onsite USDA representative to ensure compliance and readiness
• Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
• Build and maintain a strong, positive plant culture with clear expectations and accountability
• Ensure accurate recordkeeping across all production, safety, and compliance areas
• Coordinate with ownership, HR, and external vendors to support smooth plant operations
• Support startup operations with the ability to scale from 5 to 6 production days as needed

Must‑Have Qualifications

• 5+ years in a manufacturing or production environment with automation
• 3+ years of management or supervisory experience
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and build a strong workplace culture
• Experience coordinating with cross‑functional teams and external partners

Nice‑to‑Haves

• Experience in food production or USDA‑regulated environments
• Knowledge of Food Safety, SQF, or similar quality frameworks
• Background in production scheduling or plant startup environments
