Orlando Va Healthcare System Urologic Surgeon

The Orlando VA Healthcare System is seeking a candidate with skills in General Urologic Surgery. The candidate also provides a variety of services including pre-operative patient exam and assessment and performs all aspects of Adult Urological Surgery including treatment of lesions, biopsies, urological laser procedures, enucleating, stent insertion, prostate, penile and bladder surgery. The provider will perform urology-related direct patient care in all functional areas of the OR, ICU, ward, and clinic settings as needed, to include on-call coverage. The incumbent may also be involved in program planning, objectives, policies, and standards essential to delivery of quality urological care.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Perform history and physical examinations, diagnose, prepare treatment plans and manage patients with complex illnesses of the genitourinary system
• Surgery on the genitourinary system
• Resection/repair of ureter, bladder, urethra, prostate, and external genitalia
• Cystoscopy with or without biopsy fulguration, stone destruction/removal, urethrotomy
• Placement, Revision and Removal of Male or Female slings or mesh-Placement, Revision and Removal of Penile Prosthesis
• Ureteroscopy and Pyeloscopy
• Neuromodulation via percutaneous or implanted device with fluoroscopic guidance

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm (Note: Work schedules are determined and approved by the supervisor, the incumbent may be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis based on facility/patient care needs)
