Dispatcher Opportunity
Central Transport is one of the nation's most trusted and technologically advanced transportation firm, is presently seeking out a Dispatcher candidate for our Warren, MI Headquarters. We are looking for aggressive, forward thinking, and highly motivated candidates to manage in this fast-paced environment. This is a great opportunity to learn our operations from a birds eye view and make advancements within the company. Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Dispatching a team of about 40 P&D Drivers
- Relaying critical information between drivers and our vendors / terminal managers
- Review and revise driver routes to increase efficiencies while monitoring a changing workload
- Being aware of freight that is in transit
- Assist and report issues that drivers face when they're on the road (i.e. flat tire)
- Ensure facility Key Performance Indicator (KPI) goals are met and/or exceeded
- Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards
- Provide / support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
- Ability to work Monday- Friday 8am-6pm
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment
- Strong leadership qualities
- Desire to surround customer with excellence in service
- High aptitude for technology
- The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- An associates or Bachelor's Degree, preferred but not required
