Residential Plumbing Service Technician
Picture your day: it’s 7:00 a.m. and you’re on-site to kick off a daylight shift. Your first stop is a water heater replacement; by mid-morning you’re tracking down a stubborn leak; later you’re reviewing a remodel drawing to map out new runs. Most days wrap by 3:00 p.m., though busy days can extend to around 5:00 p.m. Pay starts at $25–$27 per hour, with the possibility of a higher rate based on experience. We’re interviewing now, and you can start immediately.
What you’ll take on- Install and maintain residential plumbing systems—pipes, valves, fittings, sinks, toilets, showers, and water heaters—to keep water flowing and waste properly routed.
- Diagnose and repair leaks, clogs, and related issues using appropriate tools and testing methods.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to plan new installations and make modifications.
- Test and inspect work to meet building codes, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with homeowners and contractors, offering estimates, recommendations, and professional guidance.
- Perform routine upkeep—cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting components to prevent future problems.
- Respond to urgent calls and deliver timely, effective solutions.
- Hands-on expertise across water supply, drainage, heating, and cooling–related plumbing systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve complex problems efficiently.
- Manual dexterity and physical stamina for tool use, pipe cutting/assembly, and work in tight spaces.
- Clear, customer-focused communication and the ability to build trust with clients.
- Comfort working independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications or licenses (e.g., City & Guilds in Plumbing, Gas Safe registration, or region-appropriate equivalents).
- A valid driving license may be required for site visits and transporting equipment.
