Instructor - Part Time (Criminal Justice Applicant Pool) Job Summary Classroom Instructor Qualifications Required Qualifications: Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field. Five (5) years work experience. Certified Professional Law Enforcement professional for at least five (5) years. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field. Physical & Language Requirements Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents; respond to sensitive inquiries or complaints; write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques; make persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of trustees. Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry; apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems; deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.); handle a variety of abstract and concrete variables. Physical Demands: Must regularly stand, use hands to handle or feel, and talk or hear; occasionally reach with hands and arms, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; may lift up to 10 lbs., occasionally 25 lbs.; requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: May occasionally work near moving mechanical parts; may require laboratory work, following safety rules and operating laboratory equipment; laboratory chemicals present; noise level usually moderate.
