Human Services Technician III Ridgecrest

This examination will establish an eligible list from which an immediate appointment will be made in Ridgecrest . Candidates are encouraged to indicate ALL acceptable geographical locations on their application which they will accept employment. Successful candidates will remain on the eligible list for a period of twelve-months unless specified otherwise by the Civil Service Commission.

EXAMINATION SCHEDULE:
Initial application screening will result in a written examination. Subsequent testing dates to be posted as applicable.

Examinations: Written Exam (Weight 100%): Will be conducted for the purpose of assessing the applicants knowledge of principles of customer service and human behavior; business practices; appropriate business attire; telephone etiquette; organizational practices and procedures; basic mathematics; basic computer operations; techniques of interviewing to obtain information; basic grammar; basic public contact skills.

Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the examination process.

Minimum Qualifications/Employment Standards:

Level I: High School Diploma G.E.D. or equivalent and completion of 60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience that provides the knowledge and abilities indicated below.

Level II: Satisfactory completion of training as a Human Services Technician I.

Both Levels:
Possession of a valid Class C California drivers license is required upon appointment.

Admittance to the examination will require a valid government issued photograph identification. Applicants who are unable to present proper identification must make arrangements with the Human Resources Division prior to the test date.

A background check may be conducted for this classification.

Following an offer of employment you may be required to submit to post offer medical and drug screening tests at County expense.

Appointees are subject to fingerprinting for the purpose of a criminal records check as authorized by section 16501 of the California Welfare and Institutions code and section 11105.3 of the California Penal Code.
