Nurse Clinical Coordinator - Hematology
Within the UI Stead Family Department of Pediatrics, division of Hematology, our team is seeking a full-time Clinical Coordinator to join our team! This position functions as a clinical care coordinator for the bleeding disorder population throughout their lifespan. Must have RN licensure. Position Responsibilities: Coordinates care with multiple disciplines during comprehensive clinic visits. Develops and implements patient care plans based on diagnoses and planned surgeries or procedures. Interacts with staff, patients, peers, and others in a professional and cooperative manner. Assumes responsibility for maintaining clinical expertise consistent with patient population requirements and current nursing and medical practice. Provide health education to patients, family members, and fellow health care members. Assist with once yearly outreach clinic to Amish population on a Saturday. Assist with annual Hemophilia/Bleeding Disorder Camp. Travel may be included For a complete job description, please send an email to the email listed below. UI Stead Family Children's Hospital is one of the nation's top-ranked pediatric care and research institutions, and Iowa's only comprehensive children's hospital. About the division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology The Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at University of Iowa Children's Hospital is a pioneer in the care and treatment of childhood cancers and blood disorders. It is part of the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center, and a member of the Children's Oncology Group (COG), a national consortium of pediatric cancer centers. The COG is well known for its new and innovative ways of treating childhood cancer. The division has a long history of success in bringing hope to patients with programs such as our blood and bone marrow transplant, comprehensive sickle cell program, and comprehensive hemophilia center. The mission of the division is to treat and cure children and adolescents with cancer and blood diseases who live in Iowa by delivering personalized multidisciplinary, state-of-the-art care, through participation both in nationally and locally designed protocols.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in nursing is required. Registered Nurse with a current, valid Iowa RN license or eligible to become licensed in the state of Iowa. Minimum of 1 years of nursing related experience Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the Internet. Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions.
