RN -Float Pool Limited Assignment (Med-Surg) Days

LCMC Health is a New Orleans‑based non‑profit health system dedicated to providing comprehensive care across multiple locations. This limited assignment is a 13‑week contract for an RN Staff Nurse . Clinical Responsibilities Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in accordance with LCMC Health standards and policies, delegating to professional and non‑professional personnel as needed. Perform priority technical procedures safely, effectively, efficiently, and legally. Promote infection control practices, maintain a care environment consistent with Joint Commission requirements, and participate in quality improvement activities. Utilize the Nursing Process: organize, prioritize, and coordinate care; communicate pertinent information (patient condition, laboratory data, intake & output, nutrition needs, assessment findings, shift reports, complaints, equipment problems); keep patients informed and give periodic updates; collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to identify actions that improve patient care and education; seek supervision when necessary; delegate safely; perform proper hand‑offs; advise supervisors of current or anticipated problems; use age‑appropriate learning principles; work closely with physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and social workers. Customer Service Continuously display a positive attitude that contributes to patient satisfaction and utilize the service recovery process to address patient concerns or complaints. Recognize customer needs and begin to solve problems as soon as they become apparent. Contribute to the team by providing assistance to others without being asked. Professional Development Maintain current knowledge in nursing practice. Regularly participate in activities to expand nursing knowledge in the area of practice. Readily assist others and work in designated alternative areas when needed. Job Qualifications Education Required: Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program. Preferred: BSN. Experience Required: 1 year of experience. License/Certification Required: Basic Life Support/CPR, Registered Nurse. Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
