Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – Family Medicine / Pediatrics

Location: Newport, NH 03773
Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time
Start Date: September 21, 2026
Shift: Days | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours: 40 hours/week
Monday/Wednesday: Possible extended schedule until 7:00 PM
Weekends: None; holiday coverage if required
On-Call: None
Pay: $21.19 – $32.85/hr

Position Summary

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join a Family Medicine practice with dedicated pediatric support . The CMA will provide clinical and administrative support, assist providers with patient care, and help maintain an efficient outpatient clinic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients and notify appropriate providers.
• Prepare patients, examination rooms, and equipment for procedures.
• Obtain and document patient vital signs.
• Assist providers with examinations and treatments.
• Recognize emergency situations and prioritize appropriate care.
• Handle patient calls, schedule appointments, and coordinate procedures.
• Register new patients and maintain medical records.
• Assist with insurance forms, billing, and documentation.
• Provide patients with preparation instructions for procedures.
• Collect and process routine laboratory specimens.
• Operate and maintain clinical equipment.
• Maintain proper aseptic technique, sterilization, and disinfection procedures.
• Clean, wrap, and autoclave instruments.
• Maintain examination rooms, supplies, and equipment.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program – Required
• CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification – Required
• • AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or
  • AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or
  • CCMA with required D-H apprenticeship program.
• Pediatric experience – Required
• Previous office/ambulatory care experience – Strongly Preferred
• AHA BLS Certification – Required
• Strong communication, patient-care, and organizational skills.
