Automation Maintenance Technician - Night Shift

Automation Maintenance TechnicianThe Automation Maintenance Technician supports the plant needs in regards to all automation equipment to achieve the production plan and improve on process performance and preventative maintenance. Support and actively manage troubleshooting and preventative maintenance program to maximize equipment availability, minimize downtime hours, and optimize production. Duties are performed in a high volume, high speed, light manufacturing environment where individuals are involved with overhauling equipment and the installation of new equipment.Shift: 630PM-630AM (2-2-3)Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerforms basic and routine machine maintenance functions, such as cleans, checks, and prepares presses and other production machinery to support operations.Operate lathes, mills, grinders, sanders, power tools and hand tools.Perform preventative maintenance.Improve and modify equipment.Perform equipment capability studies.Interface with other departments.Maintain equipment logs.Coordinate activities to ensure departmental compliance to all Federal, State, Local and Company regulatory requirements. These elements include FDA, EPA, OSHA, ISO, EEOC and Company policies relative to the manufacture of product, lot control requirements, documentation requirements, housekeeping, preventative maintenance, calibration, associate training and safety (equipment, associate and material).Perform these and other duties as necessary or required, the inclusion of which will not alter the basic scope of the positionWork on special projects as they ariseActively demonstrating support through interactions with solid communication skills, attitude, dedication, commitment, respect, pride and trust.Knowledge, Skills & QualificationsMust be able to read and understand proceduresBasic computer skills, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), OracleExcellent verbal/written communication and customer service skillsHighly disciplined, problem-solver, logical thinking, troubleshooting team player with a strong work ethicSelf-motivated and ability to work independentlyMust have good mechanical aptitudeDemonstrate ability to safely and competently manipulate various hand and power toolsStrong mechanical aptitude needed.Knowledge of the following equipment: hand tools, lathes, grinders, drills, and power tools.Knowledge of electronics in the form of PLCs, photo sensors, I/O readouts and data gathering.Education and ExperienceMust be 18 years of ageHigh School diploma or equivalentMinimum five years' work experience as a Technician on automated assembly equipment. Two to three years in electronics, mechanics, science and physics.Physical Requirements and Work EnvironmentWork is performed in a clean room environmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time; depending on the machine they are operatingOperator is required to use computer or touch screen to enter work order dataMust be able to occasionally move and lift objects of up to 50 lbs.Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time
