From children mastering their first words to elderly individuals rediscovering their independence, your impact will be profound.
This role invites you to work with diverse individuals across their lifespan in a dynamic environment that beautifully marries outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient involvement. Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing standardized tests and observational methods.
- Create individualized treatment plans targeting both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy aimed at enhancing communication, language skills, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
- Forge collaborative relationships with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to ensure an integrated treatment approach.
- Educate patients and their families to support progress beyond the therapy setting.
- Occasionally assist with inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout the recovery journey.
- Accurately document patient interactions and developments in compliance with state, federal, and institutional guidelines.
- Stay abreast of advancements in the field through ongoing education and professional collaboration.
Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution is required.
- Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not already ASHA-certified.
Licensure and Certifications
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Therapist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment commencement.
Skills Required
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment techniques across all age groups, highlighting a solid grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional communication skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
- Ability to modify treatment strategies to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical judgment coupled with problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation expectations.
Benefits
- Attractive compensation reflective of experience and expertise.
- Flexible scheduling to promote an ideal work-life balance and diverse patient caseloads.
- Possibilities to specialize in different areas such as pediatrics, adult neuro rehab, or geriatrics.
- Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday remuneration.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans available.
- Support for continuing education and professional growth opportunities.
- A collaborative, team-oriented culture centered on high-quality care and continuous learning.
A Journey of Impact Awaits
Here, as a Speech Language Therapist, you won't merely be treating individuals; instead, you'll contribute to a greater purpose, restoring voices, enhancing communication, and creating moments of connection through the simplest of human interactions — understanding and being understood.
You'll work alongside compassionate professionals who regard each other as family, in an atmosphere that embraces teamwork over rivalry. Every patient carries a story waiting to be told, and we trust you to help in narrating it.
