API Engineer

Job Description Required:
- 10-15 years' experience with Apigee and Azure API Management.
- Lead the design and implementation of API solutions using Apigee and Azure API Management.
- Must have knowledge of SQL, including stored procedures.
- Knowledge of Grafana and Terraform is an added advantage.
- API release & configuration management.
- Understanding of DevOps pipelines.
- Familiarity with Scrum processes.
- Develop and enforce API policies for security, rate limiting, and service orchestration.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate APIs with existing business applications and services.
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of API solutions.
- Manage the full lifecycle of APIs, from design to deprecation.
- Lead and mentor a team of API developers, promoting best practices in coding and API design.
- Work with business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Monitor API usage and performance; troubleshoot issues.
- Stay updated with latest trends in API management and recommend improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Proven experience as a technical lead or senior developer with Apigee and Azure API Management.
- Strong understanding of API design principles and security standards (OAuth, OpenID Connect, JWT).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, or .NET.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Certifications in Apigee and Azure API Management.
- Experience with other API management tools like MuleSoft or AWS API Gateway.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
